Death has been announced of former Speaker of the National Assembly from 1975 – 1987 (12 years) Mr. Nelson P.W. Khonje.
He passed on at his home district of Mwanza on Sunday.
Nkhonje also served as Member of Parliament for Mwanza Central for 21 years.
He was born on 6th December, 1923 and has died 12 days shy of his 96th birthday.
