Ben Phiri who is the first witness for President Peter Mutharika has finished testifying in the ongoing presidential elections case at the constitutional court in Lilongwe.
In the morning, Frank Mbeta lawyer representing Mutharika completed re-examining Phiri who is director of elections for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party.
Phiri becomes the 11th witness to testify in the electoral case following the parade of 10 witnesses by the first and second petitioners.
Throughout his testimony Phiri conceded that Tippex and Reserve tally sheets were used in some cases to correct wrong figures and not altering final vote count.
Meanwhile Mutharika’s second and last witness of Mutharika, Bob Chimkango has taken to the witness box.
