Lawyers representing the first respondent in the on going presidential election case Peter Mutharika have expressed satisfaction with the evidence given by Mutharika’s first witness Ben Phiri.

One of the lawyers for Mutharika, Frank Mbeta said their team is impressed with the evidence Phiri who is also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Director of Elections brought to court.

According to Mbeta, for instance Phiri has been able to clarify as to why at Msongwe school polling centre over 800 voters were allowed to vote on one stream against MEC’s recommendation that only 800 voters should be allowed to vote on one stream.

On Tuesday, Phiri finished testifying in the case after 3 days of cross-examination and re-examination.
