Police in Lilongwe have arrested a vendor who is believed to have stabbed his colleagues over vending place disagreements.

Lilongwe police publicist Joseph Kachikho has confirmed the arrest of Justin Misomali.

The incident took place yesterday as vendors who are plying their businesses in the designated places got furious with their fellows who are operating in the roads.

“The wrangle issued at Lilongwe old town as some vendors from designated places wee chasing away vendors that were plying their trade in the streets,” said Kachikho.

Meanwhile, three vendors were rushed to Bwaila hospital with serious stab wounds fro medical treatment.

Kachikho has however said that Misomali will answer charges of assault and eliciting actual bodily harm.

Last week vendors who ply their businesses in designated places demonstrated calling for the council to evict all mobile vendors.
