Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chief Elections Officer Sam Alfandika has started testifying in the ongoing Presidential polls case.
Alfindika who is the first witness for the second respondent, is being closed examined by lawyer for first petitioner United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima, counsel Marshal Chilenga.
According to information at hand, Chilenga cross examine Alfandika for 5 hours and then he will hand it over his colleagues.
UTM and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) want the May 21 polls to be nullified, arguing that MEC rigged the polls in favour of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who was declared winner.
