Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has said it is still waiting for feedback from President Peter Mutharika on their mediation aimed at diffusing political impasse that erupted aftermath of the May 21 tripartite elections.

 

The quasi-religious body has been meeting all the party leaders involved in the May 21 disputed elections with an aim of helping people in the country to re-unite.

 

PAC chairperson, Dr. Felix Chingota said the quasi-religious body is optimistic that their efforts will help in re-uniting people in the country before the verdict from court which s hearing the presidential elections case.

 

However, Mutharika who is holding the key for the round table is yet to set a date for the meeting with the quasi-religious body, which wants to give him feedback and map the way forward on the political tension.

 

PAC already met with United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader Saulos Chilima, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera and Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah regarding the same issue.
