President Peter Mutharika has appointed two ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) top official to diplomatic mission as reward for the support they rendered to the party in the May 21 tripartite election, faceofmalawi can reveal.

The two are Khwauli Msiska from the North and Cecilia Chazama, former Member of Parliament for Blantyre North East Constituency.

According to a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet signed by Chief Secretary Lloyd Muhara, Msika is heading to South Africa where he will be new Malawi High Commissioner while Chazama will be Malawi Ambassador to Ethiopia and African Union (AU).

Chimango Chirwa, Malawi Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union (AU) has been recalled to take up a position in the Public Sector.

According to a statement from the Chief Secretary to the Government, the diplomatic appointments are subject to confirmation by the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament.

The appointment of the two is with immediate effect.
