Health officials in Mzimba have revealed that for the past 7 years the district has not recorded cholera outbreak.
The Mzimba South District Health Office has since declared that it has eradicated the epidemic going by the outbreak trends.
Director of Health Services for M’mbelwa District Council, Lumbani Munthali said this during media briefing on the district hospital’s prevention, preparedness and contingency plan against cholera and Ebola out breaks.
The medical doctor said cholera has been craftily contained and the district is safe, even in the event that Lundazi District in Zambia, which shares borders with Mzimba, is horribly torn apart by cholera outbreaks.
