Government has increased subsistence allowance and leave grants for civil servants, it has been confirmed.
Civil Servants on the highest grade will be pocketing K60, 000 as substance allowance per day and K112, 000 as leave grant.
The lowest-paid will be getting K20, 000 as leave grant and K31, 000 leave grant.
The development comes after the Civil Servants Trade Union CSTU has been engaging government on the revision of the leave grants, substance allowance, introduction of medical and promotion.
Commenting on the revision, Madalitso Njolomole General Secretary of the CSTU said the civil servants welcome the adjustment although it is not meeting the cost of leaving.
