Truck Drivers Association Drag Mount Meru to Court for Firing It’s Members

Truck Drivers Association (TDA) has dragged Mount Meru to court for firing five truck drivers from  the company immediately after truck drivers were staging protests on salary increment.

Reasons for their action, the association said their members were unlawfully dismissed.

However Lawyers for Mount Meru Oil Company are insisting that the dismissal of five truck drivers from the company is a normal retrenchment.

On December 10, Mount Meru released a press statement communicating on the dismissal of it’s five employees which include Richard Jubeki Phiri the president for the Association.
