First petitioner in the on-going presidential election case United Transformation Movement (UTM) Saulos Chilima is expected to present his oral submission to the Constitutional Court hearing the case in Lilongwe.

It is expected that the court will start hearing submissions from parties in the case where the UTM leader and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera are first and second petitioners respectively.

President Peter Mutharika and Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) are the two respondents.

According to Chikosa Silungwe who is the lead counsel for Chilima said his client is going to answer three constitutional questions in his oral submissions.

Chilima and Chakwera petitioned the court seeking nullification of the May 21 polls results Mutharika was declared winner arguing the whole results management was married by irregularities.
