India – Five men were arrested in Chennai, around six days after the murder of a man. On New Year’s eve, five persons allegedly murdered a man after they had an argument over a birthday cake. The two victims are residents of Poonthope Colony.
The accused were identified as Bharath, Uma Bharath, Prathap, Ajith and Stalin. On December 31, two men identified as Kumar and Pushpranjan were beaten up by a gang comprising 10 men.
The two men ordered a cake as it was Kumar’s birthday. When they went to take the cake, the staff allegedly asked them to wait for one hour.
The two men then started arguing with the staff of the bakery. According to the Times of India’s report, Kumar and Pushparanjan were also unhappy with the design of the cake.
When they received the cake, Kumar and his friend decided to go back. The two men were on a bike when 10 persons intercepted them.
