In Machinjiri Township,Blantyre – A Man has been killed this morning by an angry mob after being suspected of theft,Face of Malawi Has Learned.
According to the eyewitnesses, the deceased whose identity is yet to be identified went to Mantchombe village at Khama in the area of traditional authority Kapeni on the night of Tuesday intending to steal goats at a certain house.
The eyewitnesses also made clear saying the deceased was stealing in people’s homes through magic whilst naked.
However, on today’s fateful morning his plot to steal was foiled leading his stoning until he died.
Machinjiri is one of the areas in Blantyre which has no police unit, something that has been argued as a reason for the continued insecurity in the area including mob justice as the members of the communities solely depend on Limbe police station.
The unit was destroyed in 2018 by angry people as a disagreement over laws guiding the operations of public commuters.
