Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has said all is set for demonstrations to petition Malawi Police Service to arrest police officers involved in the alleged rape of women in Msundwe, Lilongwe.

HRDC vice chairperson Gift Trapence has confirmed, adding tat the coalition has informed the police and city authorities on their plans.

Trapence added that the demonstrations will start from Lilongwe community ground and finish at area 30 police headquarters where they intend to deliver their petition to the acting Inspector General of Police Duncan Mwapasa.

Today’s protest will be the second demonstration after other organizations demonstrated on the same, last year.
