Reports reaching Face of Malawi are showing that Blantyre City Council employees have downed their tools in an effort to force their bosses to increase their dues.
The employees are demanding a 150 percent pay hike from the council following reports that councilors have given themselves an increment.
Meanwhile, fire junior officers at Blantyre City Council have locked their bosses outside the gate.
And those who clean the streets at Ginnery corner in the commercial city have also put, down their tools.
