A political Analyst from Livingstonia University George Phiri has asked President Peter Mutharika to focus on constructive remarks that will help in developing the country than uttering hatred remarks.

Mutharika has been urged to refrain from attacking opposition political parties and human rights defenders in the country.

On several occasions, Mutharika has taken advantage of public events to attack the opposition and human rights activists.

Last Friday at the launch of the Agricultural commercialization policy at the Bingu International Commercialization policy, Mutharika slammed hote critics again.

He had also previously in his New Year addressed described the vocal Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) as a terrorist grouping meant to topple his leadership.

In reiteration, the opposition and the human rights defenders have been hitting back at Mutharika describing his outbursts as mere political threats.

This is happening at a time the country is waiting for the landmark ruling of the constitutional court in the May 21 elections case in which the opposition UTM and MCP are challenging the results in which Mutharika was declared winner.

According to Phiri if Mutharika continues attack the opposition and human rights defenders will only fuel hatred among already divided Malawians.

According to Phiri, Mutharika should focus on identifying solutions to challenges currently rocking the country.
