Organizers of Anti-Answer demonstrations Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) have slated January 17, 2020 as a for nationwide Anti-Ansah demonstrations, dubbed 3 million march.
HRDC leadership has confirmed.
The coalition’s leadership in the southern region has already submitted a notice to Blantyre City Council (BCC) authorities ahead of Thursday’s protest.
Confirming the development, HRDC vice Chairperson for the Southern Region, Henderson Mhango, expressed concern over reluctance by city authorities to receive the notice.
These will be the latest in a series of civil protests to force the resignation of Malawi Electoral Commission Chairperson Jane Ansah over alleged mismanagement of last year’s tripartite elections.
However, BCC spokesperson Anthony Kasunda discredits the accusation.
HRDC and other stakeholders have been accusing the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah fro mismanaging May 21 tripartite elections, hence calling for her resignation.
