Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Reyneck Matemba has refused to name the two suspects implicated in an attempt to bribe Constitutional Court judges handling the Presidential election case where Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) are seeking nullification of the May 21, 2019 polls.
Matemba said this during a media briefing currently underway at the bureau’s office in the capital Lilongwe.
He said he knows he will be insulted and ridiculed for keeping the names secret.
“I will not mention the names of the two suspects but what I can tell you is that one is a senior public servant and the other as a person who works in the private sector,” said Matemba.
Matemba emphasized that the complaint before the bureau is against individuals and not any political party.
