An Egyptian plane has crashed during an armed forces exercise on January 14, the army confirmed on Facebook.
The incident apparently resulted in the death of the jet’s pilot, who reportedly had not managed to eject.
“A fighter plane crashed in one of the training areas, leading to the death of its pilot,” the statement read.
The exact cause or additional details have not been revealed as the army continues to investigate the case.
Last December, another Egyptian jet had crashed under similar circumstances, however, its pilot survived.
