The 72 hour ultimatum given to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) by Civil Society Organization (CSOs) under the banner Human Rights Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has expired.
Last week Thursday, HRDC presented its petition to ACB Director General Reyneck Matemba to name and arrest people involved in bribing constitutional Court judges hearing the presidential elections case.
However, three days have now gone and the bureau is yet to respond to the petition.
Meanwhile, a good governance analyst Rafik Hajat has told MIJ Online that it may well appear just like in other high profile that the ACB tends to be caught between decisions.
“We have had so many high profile cases and nothing seems to be happening. I think the reason is to ACB to an extent their hands are tied.” He said.
