A woman from East Africa who is in India for her medical treatment has alleged that she was robbed, disrobed and abandoned by three men in Bengaluru earlier this month.
A foreign national alleged that she was disrobed by three men in Bengaluru city last week. Police have registered a case on the basis of her complaint and efforts are underway to nab the accused.
Reports suggest that the woman hails from East Africa and arrived in the state capital of Karnataka about five days prior to the incident.

In her complaint, the woman stated that she took a cab from Kammanahalli towards Kothanur on January 16.

She further stated that there were three other occupants in the vehicle, all of them males. As the car approached Doddaballapura Road, the accused reportedly wielded a weapon and robbed her at knifepoint.

They also forced her to take off her clothes before leaving her at an isolated spot on the outskirts of town.

A police official familiar with the investigation said that the woman arrived in Bengaluru for the treatment of her kidney stones at a city-based private hospital.

While she has accused the three men of robbing her of a mobile phone, cash and gold ornaments, it is still unclear how she ended up in the cab with the accused.

Investigators are also trying to figure out whether the cab in question is owned by a private aggregator or not.
