Parliament’s Public Appointments Committee has confirmed Khwauli Msiska as Malawi’s High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa and Cecilia Chazama as Malawi’s Ambassador to African Union and Ethiopia.
President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika appointed the two on the diplomatic mission late last year and they were waiting for Parliament’s approval.
According to information at hand, the two were confirmed on Thursday.
Chazama and Msiska’s appointment has been described by many as a reward for the two for working had in supporting the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ahead of the May 21 polls.
Chazama replaces Chimango Chirwa who has been recalled.
