Some teachers in Lilongwe are marching to Capital Hill to demand explanation from government officials, arguing the salaries that have been accredited in their bank accounts is reflecting as January pay.

The teachers have been striking demanding their December 2019 salaries as some of them were skipped on the government payroll.

According to the teachers they want Principle Secretary for the ministry of education Justin Saidi to address them on the matter.

Yesterday, Saidi indicated that the treasury had already made the deposits in the direct bank accounts of the teachers December salaries.

Teachers have been holding sit-in aimed at forcing government to receive their delayed December salaries.
