President for Malawi Congress party (MCP) Lazarus Chakwera has urged Malawians to accept and respect court verdict which will be delivered by the Constitutional Court.

Chakwera said this at MCP headquarters in Lilongwe during a press briefing organized by the party.

According to Chakwera, there is no other place Malawians will ever call home except this country hence a need to be peaceful as the general public is waiting for the court verdict.

In his nine minutes speech, the MCP leader said Malawians should uphold the law and work towards rebuilding Malawi after the court determination on the matter.

Chakwera is the second petitioner in the high profile presidential case where he (Chakwera) and his counterpart Saulos Chilima of United Transformation Movement (UTM) are challenging and seeking nullification of the presidential results.

The Constitutional Court  has since said the court verdict on the presidential case will be delivered between January 27 and February 3.
