An inspection unit aircraft went off the radars minutes after it had taken off from the George Airport in South Africa.

According to The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), there is no sign of the plane and its three-member crew which was on a calibration mission of the airport’s navigational aids.
“The air traffic control tower could not make contact with the aircraft ten minutes after take-off. The Air Traffic and Navigation Services immediately activated search and rescue,” SACAA statement reads.
At this stage, the operation has not borne any fruit.
The regulator will further provide additional information upon receipt.
