President Peter Mutharika has appealed to political leaders and the populace to stop causing unrest and instigating tension in the country saying the acts are threatening investors.

Mutharika said this in Lilongwe on his arrival from the UK-Africa summit.

According to Mutharika, no investor would wish to invest in a country where there is no peace arguing such situations threaten investors.

Mutharika added that the international community is impressed that Malawi’s economy has grown faster than any other country in southern Africa.

Proving his argument, Mutharika said as a sign of strong economy in the country, Malawian youths are selling cars like bananas along the country’s roads, remarks angered many.

He therefore pleaded with Malawians to withdraw from the path of destruction and reconcile to rebuild the country.
