One of the witnesses for Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the Presidential election case Anthony Bendulo, has been whisked away from the court by police after he was allegedly found in possession of an airgun in his car trying to enter court premises.

Bendulo told the police the gun is for his security. He has since been taken to Lilongwe Police Station.

The Constitutional Court is today delivering a ruling on the disputed May 21 tripartite election where Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) declared President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as winner.
