Veteran Musician cum politician Lucius Banda has hailed United Transformation Movement (UTM) Dr. Saulos Chilima and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for standing up for the truth on behalf of Malawians.
Banda said this in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by Faceofmalawi.
“Congratulations to my president Honorable Dr Saulosi Chilima.
“You and Dr Chakwera stood up and fought for the rights of your fellow Malawians. A great quality in leadership that has not only gone down in the history books of the MALAWI but the world.
“As we the people of Malawi prepare for fresh elections, we stand with you in making a better tomorrow for our children and children’s children,” said Banda.
He added: “The justice system of Malawi has shown us that there is hope and I pray the same justice system that has made a difference in Malawi continue to do so for the many cases in the judicial system.
“Today is a new day with old responsibilities and new one. May we all rebuild Malawi together for the betterment of the citizens.
“Once again this victory is for all UTM and MCP voters but the greatest victory we shall see it during the 150 days.”
The Constitutional Court on Monday nullified the disputed May 21 Presidential election case and called for fresh election in a period of 150 days.
