Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has hailed its supporters popularly known as cadets for the peace they have demonstrated after the Constitutional Court ruling to nullify the May 21, 2019 presidential elections.
In a press statement seen by Face of Malawi reporter, DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffry said what the supporters have done is a clear manifestation of the party’s ideology built on its three pillars.
“As the largest party in the land we believe in the rule of law, peace and order as fundamental pillars of the democratic society,” reads part of the society.
Jeffrey continues that the party “remains committed in fostering national building, social development and addressing issues in a peaceful and democratic means.”
In the statement, Jeffrey has urged all Malawian o continue maintaining peace as the party will chart for a way forward in regards to the Constitutional Court ruling which was delivered on February 3, 2020.
DPP has also said it will issue its formal statement on the Constitutional Court ruling.
