The Malawi Police Service reveals that it is close to finalising its report on the sexual assault of women and girls in Lilongwe.
This comes four months after the incident occurred.
It is alleged that several police officers who were deployed to Mpingu, M’bwatalika and Msundwe raped 13 women, defiled one girl and sexually assaulted three other girls who were all under the age of 18.
The issue sparked widespread condemnation from local and international rights organisations.
National Police Spokesperson, James Kadadzera blames the delay on a lack of cooperation by some the survivors.
