Founder and Managing Director for General Vision Screen Printers (GVSP) Comrade Dr Feston Kaphanya has said 2019 was tough year to business people especially Small Scale and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) due to economical crisis.
Speaking in an interview, Kaphanya said the problem of slow down of business in the country was not much due to demonstrations but it was hard year to companies.
“We cannot blame much on Government for slow down of business but it was the economy crisis,” he said, adding that another challenge is that the country allows foreign investors such as Indians, Pakistanis and Chinese to do even small Scale businesses and Medium Enterprises that Malawian companies can also do like printing .
However he said demos had an impact to business because companies had to be closed during demonstrations.
“During demonstrations companies lost a lot of money because companies were closed, properties were being destroyed and shops were looted,” said GVSP boss.
Kaphanya however urged all fellow Malawians to unite despite religion, political affiliations, race, and region to build the country – the warm Heart of Africa.
