Chipani Cha Fuko (CCF) President Davis Chester Katsonga has joined the United Transformation Movement (UTM) Party, Faceofmalawi can reveal.
Katsonga was unveiled during the rally held at Lumbila School Ground in Blantyre on Sunday and the rally was graced by UTM Vice President Dr. Michael Usi.
Usi hailed Katsonga to making a bold move to join UTM.
On his part, Katsonga plead to support the party ahead of the fresh elections in 150 days to come as ordered by the Constitutional Court on Monday last week.
“I have joined this party because I have faith in it’s leadership. Many people might seem silent now, maybe they’re afraid but the truth is people are talking behind doors about this party and almost everyone is pleased with the vision that Dr Chilima has for this nation,” Katsonga said.
Katsonga once served as Speaker of the National Assembly.
