Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) commissioners will appear before Public Appointments Committee of Parliament (Pac) today Monday.

This is in contrast with earlier communication where the commissioners from MEC rebuffed the call to meet PAC.

An inside source at Parliament has confirmed the development in an interview with one of the local daily papers (Daily Times).

On Monday last week, the constitutional court nullified the May 21 presidential polls and called for fresh election within a period of 21 days.

The Constitutional Court also gave PAC powers to scrutinise if the commissioners had done their job well during the May 21 Tripartite Elections and make a verdict on the matter.
