A shocking video has emerged of what it said to be a convicted rapist who is stripped, beaten, whipped, and then has his head shoved into a filthy jail cell toilet.

The man begged for mercy as he was pummelled him in his jail cell while it was captured on a banned mobile phone.

The leaked video showed the man, dressed in a blue shirt and grey jogging bottoms, crying as he was made to take off his clothes and repeatedly lashed with a cable by the baying lags.

Last week he was thought to have been found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl with two other men at a flat in Enfield, north London, in August 2016 – after an accomplice held a machete to her throat and took her captive.

All three defendants in the case are due to be sentenced on March 19 at the same court.

Graphic footage circulating on social media shows the man surrounded by angry lags in his cell as they order him to take off his clothes.

He is led to the bathroom and told by an inmate: ‘Take off your clothes before I whack you in the head, bro.’

He reluctantly takes off his sweater before another prisoner rips his shirt and punches him.

He is then forced to turn around and repeatedly whipped across the back with a cable.

The prisoners make him take off his trousers, as he pleads: ‘I can’t do any more. Bro, come on, bro.’

But the man filming says: ‘Put his head in the toilet.’

He tries to leave the bathroom but is shoved back inside, complaining: ‘That’s too much. You’re violating me right now.’

Inmates respond by punching and kicking him in the torso as he cowers against a wall.

A second clip shows him screaming ‘oh my days’ as the lags force his head inside the toilet bowl and whip and kick him repeatedly.

One viewer on social media said: ‘Don’t like being in a scary position? Shouldn’t do it to others.’ A third added: ‘Jail justice is wild.’

A jury was told that the victim had travelled to London from Bristol on August 13, 2016, where one of the men held a machete against her throat and robbed her while the other defendants watched.

One of the men then falsely imprisoned her at a residential block in Enfield and she was forced to perform oral sex on each of the men.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Carter, of the Metropolitan Police, said: ‘The victim and her family have shown tremendous strength and patience in supporting a prosecution.

‘I would like to commend their courage, particularly in facing the defendants in court. It is due to their strength that three dangerous individuals have been convicted.

‘I am hopeful that sentencing will reflect the severity of these offences and the trauma suffered by the victim.’

A Prison Service spokesman added: ‘A prisoner was treated for minor injuries after an alleged assault at HMP Pentonville on 9 February and police are now investigating.

‘We are spending an extra £100 million, as part of a £2.75 billion investment, on cutting-edge technology to stop phones getting into custody.’
