State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima has dragged Acting Inspector General of Police Duncan Mwapasa and Chief Sectary Lloyd Muhara to court over contempt of court.
The development comes as government is yet to restore the benefits and protocols of the Vice President.
This follows a judgment by the Constitutional Court that Chilima should continue holding the office of the vice president until when the country holds a fresh presidential election in June this year.
Khumbo Soko, lawyer for Chilima has confirmed to the press that he has filed for contempt of court against Mwapasa and Muhara.
Soko said the application has been filed after he received instruction from Chilima adding that the judges who heard the election case will hear the application.
Soko said Chilima is yet to get his motorcade, offices and other facilities.
