United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima is set to hold the first ever rally at Masintha Ground in the capital Lilongwe since the constitutional Court nullified the May 21, 2019 polls on February 3, 2020.
The Constitutional Court on February 3, 2020 ruled in favour of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and UTM who were seeking for the nullification of the polls and the court ordered for fresh polls within a period of 150 days.
Since then political leaders of different parties have been on the ground appealing to electorate to vote for them and Chilima has followed suit.
Malawians expect Chilima to comment on the rumours hovering on the social media that he has agreed to be a runningmate to Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in the fresh polls.
Recently Chilima was quoted as saying UTM is ready to form an alliance with any political party ahead of the fresh polls.
He further said Malawians have suffered enough.
