An India couple was arrested, one week after a 22-year-old woman accused them of rape.
Reports indicate that the accused allegedly raped the house maid at their rented accommodation.
The evil act came to light on Monday, when the survivor approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The Victim went to the Patuli police station, alleging that she was raped by a man eight days ago.
After registering the complaint, the police went to the accused’s residence and nabbed them. They were produced before a court and remanded in police custody for 10 days.
The accused works as a mason while his wife works at a bag manufacturing unit in Beleghata.
The accused couple has claimed that the sexual intercourse between the survivor and the man was consensual.
