MEC dumps AG Kaphale

BLANTYRE – The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has severed its relationship with Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale.
According to MEC director of legal affairs David Matumika Kaphale will no longer represent it in the ongoing Presidential Elections Case instead private lawyer Tamando Chokotho will takeover to lead the commission’s legal team.
The Constitutional Court found Kaphale in contempt and ordered him out of the case.
