Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara has abruptly suspended proceedings in the house following chaos that erupted between the sergeant at arms and other Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members.
It all started when the Speaker sent out Machinga Central East Daudi Chikwanje for ‘misbehaving’ during the deliberations.
As he was being escorted out sergeant at arms, Deputy Minister of Transport Charles Mchacha attacked the sergeant at arms.
The development forced the Speaker to send out Mchacha as well and the development did not please DPP MPs in the house resulting into a chaos.
Meanwhile the Speaker has suspended the house.
