Police in Ntcheu are keeping in custody a 55 year old man for being found in possession of medical drugs without license.
Deputy police publicist for Ntcheu Rabecca Kwisongole confirmed the arrest of Dickson Moyo.
Kwisongole said Moyo’s arrest is a result of a special operation tour aimed at curbing malpractices in the district.
Moyo was arrested at Kampepuza trading centre.
The suspect will appear in court soon to answer a case of being found in possession of medical drugs without license contrary to Section 65(1) of Pharmacy Medicines and Poisons Board.
Moyo hails from Mbemba village Traditional Authority Kwataine, in the district.
The drugs include:
-Indomethacine – 5000 tablets
-Bactrim-5000 tablets
-Ibuprofen-2000 tablets
-Amoxicilin- 3000 tablets
-LA- 2000 tablets
-Ferous sulphate- 2000 tablets
-Paracetamol- 2000 tablets
Gentamicin- 2000 tablets
-Indocid- 2500 tablets
Ethromycin- 1000 tablets
