An 11-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her biological brother gave birth to a boy at their Missouri home in USA.
Her brother, 17, was charged with incest and statutory rape of a person younger than 12, and her parents were charged with child endangerment.
The incident came into light when the parents brought a baby boy to St Joseph’s Medical Centre in Missouri on February 11.
The baby was still attached to the umbilical cord and placenta, reports NBC news.
The father initially claimed the baby was his and had been dropped off on their porch by his ex-girlfriend.
He later told investigators that his daughter had given birth at a bath tub and that his son was the baby’s father.
Both the girl’s parents claimed they were not aware their daughter was pregnant or she was allegedly being sexually assaulted by her brother, according to the statement.
The 17-year-old told the police he had sex with his younger sister about 100 times but had no idea she was pregnant, according to a probable cause statement.
Lt Tom Wilison of St Charles Police said the baby was born premature and remains hospitalised at the moment.
He added that the girl is in the care of the relatives.
All three suspects are being held and ordered to remain custody with bonds by the St Charles County Department of Corrections, NBC reports.
Court records showed that the bail was set at $10,000 (£7,719) for the woman, $100,000 (£77,190) cash only for the man and $300,000 (£231,570) cash only for the teen.
