“We will not Summon Chairperson of HRDC MTAMBO” FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER KAZOMBO SAYS

First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Madalitso Kazombo, says Parliament will not summon chairperson of the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Timothy Mtambo for allegedly calling Members of Parliament ‘childish’.

Kazombo says the August House has no evidence that Mtambo made such remarks in Parliament andas such, there is nothing Parliament can do.

The Deputy Speaker was responding to a question from Minister of Information, Civic Education and Communications Technology Mark Botomani who asked the office of the Speaker to update Parliament on his earlier call for Parliament to summon Mtambo to apologise to Parliament or anyof its committees for making such remarks to the media last week.
