Twenty learners are reported to have fainted at Lumbira Primary and Secondary school in Blantyre following a bees invasion.
Reports say classes were disrupted at the school after the headteacher approached a beehive around the school prompting the furious bees to attack everyone on the campus.
It is suspected the bees attacked because of the perfume that the teacher wore.
Eyewitnesses say the head teacher began running for his life before the bees spread to the other classrooms of the two nearby schools.
Over twenty pupils including the head teacher were reportedly unconscious.
Some of the pupils were rushed to Chilomoni Health Centre for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Blantyre City Council has sent officials to spray chemicals at the bees.
