Political commentator Sheriff Kaisi has said President Peter Mutharika has silently made a strong statement by taking along United Democratic Front (UDF) leader Atupele Muluzi on official duties.
During the launch of vision 2063 in Lilongwe last Friday, Mutharika and Muluzi sat next to each other, hence Kaisi’s observation.
Initially, the position taken by Muluzi, is occupied by the vice president, according to sitting plan.
This happened two days after Mutharika and his party, the DPP formed an electoral alliance with UDF ahead of the May 19 presidential election.
Prior to the Constitutional Court judgment on February, 3, 2020, Everton Chimulirenji was the right hand man for Mutharika.
