Ruling Democratic Progressive Party and United Democratic Progressive Party held yet another joint peaceful in Mangochi on Wednesday protesting the nullification of May 2019 presidential election.

Malawi Electoral Commission declared President Professor Peter Mutharika winner but the Constitutional Court nullified the results citing glaring irregularities.

Thousands of supporter for the two parties choked the Mangochi – Monkey Bay Road as they marched to submit their petition to the council offices.

The march began from Mpondasi where DPP Secretary General Grizelder Jeffrey appealed to the two parties’ supporters to maintain peace during the march.

DPP has had such peaceful demonstrations in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu.

The party maintains that Mutharika won the election but justice was twisted.
