Lawyer for Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) have said they working tirelessly for a bail of their clients Mac Donald Sembereka and Gift Trapence.
Sembereka and Trapence were arrested yesterday barely few hours after President Peter Mutharika threatened to use all the necessary force against the human rights activists if they dare to seal Sate House premises.
According to lawyers of HRDC, they tried for a police bail but nothing worked hence their attempt to high court.
Sembereka and Trapence were transferred yesterday night from Lilongwe immediately after their arrests to Blantyre and placed at Ndirande and Blantyre police stations respectively.
Reasons for their transfers is not yet known.
According to National police spokesperson James Kadadzera, the warrant of arrest issued for them is because they wanted to shut down State House which is contrary to section 103 of the police Act.
Meanwhile, HRDC chairperson Timothy Mtambo is still at large as the hunt for him continues.
