The Supreme Court of Appeal will start hearing the appeal by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) in the presidential election case on April 15, 2020.
Supreme Court of Appeal Registrar Agnes Patemba confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Patemba , MEC and President Peter Mutharika have been given 7 days from today to file their arguments.
She said Lazarus Chakwera and Saulos Chilima will also be given the same number of days to respond.
According to Patemba, the judges will be given 14 days to study the arguments.
Patemba has said the appeal will be heard in Lilongwe because that is where the parties are.
The Constitutional Court on February 3, 2020 nullified the May 21, 2019 polls and called for fresh elections in a period of 150 days.
