State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also President of United Transformation Movement (UTM) is scheduled to hold a public rally at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre this coming Sunday, Faceofmalawi can reveal.
The rally will come barely a week after joint rally of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the United Democratic front (UDF) at the same venue.
According to information at hand, Chilima will use the podium to respond to claims by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Mutharika is on records to have told DPP supporters that his vice wished him dead with an attempt to ascend to the high office through back door.
“I have listened to an audio where someone is whishing me dead. In our family we were nine children and all of them are gone except me. Why God has allowed me to live this long only him knows why,” Mutharika was quoted as saying.
But Chilima is yet to comment on the claims. Many people are of the view that Chilima will use the podium to reacts to Mutharika’s claims.
