Starkey Hearing Foundation has donated over 400 hearing devices at Zomba Gymkna club. The event took place in two days, on 8th to 9th March 2020.

Starkey Hearing Foundation Managing Officer, Vanesa Kamwangala said that their target was to reach 800 people with hearing problem in Zomba.

“The organization prepared to reach 800 people from different angles in Zomba so that’s why the whole donation started on 8 and ended on 9 March. Out of 800 people, only 414 were attended and others were not fitted due to some other problems like either being profound or a deaf cases”, said Kamwangala.

Kamwangala added that Starkey Hearing Foundation has managed to reach a lot of people in different countries since the foundation started.

The patients were taught and given instructions on how to use the devices.

They were also given coordinators’ phone numbers so that whenever there is a complaint or a question they should report.

Starkey foundation started operating in Malawi in the year 2013.

The foundation operates in 70 countries worldwide and in Africa, they are in Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, South Africa plus Malawi.
