The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) has shifted the International Trade fair from the month of May to June due to the forthcoming fresh Presidential polls as ordered by the Constitutional Court.

MCCCI confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the fair will be held in June and not end May as per tradition.

Recently Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) also rescheduled the dates for administering this years Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education Exams due to the same issue.

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is scheduled to hold fresh Presidential polls on May 19, 2020 following the nullification of the May 21, 2019 Presidential polls by the Constitutional Court.

Meanwhile President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and MEC are challenging the Constitutional Court ruling.

The two parties have since appealed to the Supreme Court and the case is scheduled to commence on April 15, 2020 in the capital Lilongwe.
